217 Brewery was right across the street, and there was a food truck out front. Other than that there is not much to do around the park.
I was visiting Wilson, NC for the first time. My brother and I were doing some family history research. The park was a great surprise. I plan to come back and bring my daughter.
The Whirligig Park is an awesome place. We used to visit the whirligigs before they moved them to the park. They did a great job on the restoration of the whirligigs. They also did a great job displaying them in the park. The park itself is nice too. There are plenty of places to sit. There is a stage that can be used for entertainment. It's a great place for the entire family. Check it out when you can.
The Whirligig Park is awesome! Visited 2x's already. It's better to visit during a windy day. This will allow for the best viewing of how each whirligig operates. Very mechanical! They are so colorful and each one tells a story. Go out and enjoy this wonderful park!!!
Our 4 yr old grandson loved looking at all the whirligigs. They are very interesting to watch as the wind blows them. He also just loved walking up and down on the stage. Nice place to visit and plenty of tables for a picnic.
Little public park near downtown Wilson. We went on a really cold November day so there wasn't much going on.
The whirligigs were cool, and some were very large. Definately kid friendly.
Nice quick day trip for the kids though if you are close.
