Clean grocery store with a lot of choices, great sales but prices for items not on sale can be pricey. Good deli and cheese department.
Have good specials. And use YOUR card to savor more money.
Nice grocery store with fresh locally grown fruits and vegetables. Rotisserie chicken and fresh baked bread as well. Small bakery and good seafood area. Items can be expensive and they often run out of products on sale quickly. Decent place with kind and fairly helpful staff.
If you expect your customers to pay more than they would anywhere else, then you should have exemplary customer service, be very clean, and high quality products and selection. Harris Teeter does have a decent selection and is clean, but their customer service is lacking. As a life long Publix customer, finding out there wasn't one in Wilson was a disappointment after we moved here, but I thought HT would be comparable. It is not. Publix employees always seem willing to take that extra step, I have not found that to be true at HT. I've gone in several times and always leave feeling annoyed. An example: I went in earlier this year with my newborn. I was only buying a couple of things including a bottle of wine and had my infant in the car seat in the cart. I decided to try self checkout, because what am I supposed to do when I have the baby in the cart and they have those bizarre checkout lanes, where your cart is supposed to go one way and you’re supposed to go the other?! But that's a whole other issue. So, I'm self-checking out and the woman stationed there wants to check my ID, which is totally fine, but instead of walking over to me and looking at my ID, she expected me to walk over to her register. I do not at all feel comfortable walking off and leaving my sleeping baby, so I have to navigate my cart through the other people checking out to show her my ID and then push back through to my checkout area. When I expressed how she could just walk over to me, she was like, "I can't" and shrugged. That would never happen at Publix, but it might happen at Walmart, where the prices are MUCH lower.
Every time I go to this location the staff never has a clue as to where items are. The employees at this location are not well informed or educated on the products that they sell. I only go to this store if I have no other choice, because the treatment that you get there is so unsatisfactory. Especially the younger kids working there. Everything is a joke to them and they treat customers very rudely. I once asked a kid-employee if they had an item---he looked at me as if I were crazy and then told me he had never heard of such an item and just left me standing there looking crazy. I then asked another employee, an older man --who was much more helpful--he tried helping but was also not able to find the item.
