After being seen we were going to get oyster's from the the oyster bar but they had ran out.

I think this restaurant has a great setting and a good menu but it all needs to be updated and the staff needs to be evaluated and retrained.

Visited Silver Lake with 2 non-seafood eaters in my family. We loved the food which was delicious and the atmosphere was relaxing and cozy. Will return soon !

Great service. The food came out of the kitchen faster than anywhere, including some "fast" food places. Was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing.

Anyone who ever cross US 301 or later I-95 into eastern North Carolina, surely ate at Silver Lake and the way the late Buck Dixon ran it, they all came back.

When it's good, I try to be rewarding. When it's bad, I try to not shoot both barrels. When it's really bad, like our last outing at Silver Lake Seafood Restaurant in Wilson, NC, then I pull the trigger on both barrels at the same time.

RIP...Silver Lake

After the floods and Buck's passing, things were never the same. We salute all those years that all those meals, all those oysters and all those parties feted so very many happy diners.

The last time I went it took 20 minutes to brr seated which I didn't have a problem with but after being seated we weren't seen again for our drinks for an additional 15-20 minutes.

We ended up leaving and going go The Mayflower.

The once famous restaurant now sits on NC 58, dark, unattended with the adjoining dam breached, the lake dry and weeds growing on the lake bed, all not a pretty sight.

SILVER LAKE - CLOSED

Extremely pricey for frozen, poor quality food. We watched them take my daughter's crab claws, solidly frozen, to the oyster steam room. When they were brought, 10-15 minutes after the rest of us had our food, they were rubbery and we had to ask the waitress the times to bring something to crack them with. Once good was served she never returned. No refills, no 'Is everything okay? ' $75 for crappy food and worse service. Will not go back. Ever.
